Does the impact your parents had on your mental health make more sense if you consider the impact their parents/ your grandparents had on their mental health?.
you ask for a general statement? idk about that, i have some details
the father of father was quite old when he married, ww1 vet, tuberculosed and having bad health problems on and off, strong silent tyrannic & strict, i suppose, from the stories, father was traumatised some way, he remembered his mother as bedridden oftentimes,
faith was father had to take over the business, was taken out of school to prepare for that, but totally not the person to deal with the people-side of things, that gave enormous stress in the household always, also the work was at home, the work was home, and great spoiler and excuse for spoiling everything
the father of mother, big socialist and union man, office-clerc and insurance-dealer (mind the link)
- all mentionned were children from large poor families who had to go work as early as possible to help the household
the other grandmother was only child, her mother was institutionalised a while in early adulthood, apparently gm didn't do all that much housework and hated cooking, never knitted or needleworked
both g-parent couples weren't too happy with the choice, that might have helped in creating polarisation too,
the them vs us
the first bad memory, overhearing parents' row around age of 3, hearing f say, you can go (back) to your parents and take 'your' children with you, ITS that time when your world fell apart by betrayal, if that makes sense -
the untrustworthy parents, you deny it (are these my parents or was there a mistake), you forget about it but they keep throwing it in your face
where's this going? my mother didn't connect with me at birth, that's likely postnatal depression, but if we take the road of everything is my fault, then so it is
(even nature shows the mother preference is to the male, in duress the ressourses prioritise to male offspring, even in the womb(generally) they get more nutrition so its not a problem of caracter or intent) i think she stayed jealous covertly thats why i got thrown away later on, but how that stands in relation to her parents or mother?
