On my mind right now.
FF64 sent me a text this morning asking if I could print her a miniature twirling baton, like marching band twirlers throw around (
at might be funny), doing fancy twirling tricks. Her grand daughter has won some baton twirling competitions. Her life centers around her family, her adult children, their partners, and her grandkids. I have never known a nicer Neurotypical family, all very kind and caring. I would say her daughters are pretty darn close to Fred Rogers level of kindness.
TO THE POINT!She wanted to know if I could make a 3D-Printed throwing baton? She is going to glue it onto a little figure for her grand daughter. There are two parts to this answer.
Yes, a two inch baton could be 3D-printed.
No, I do not have a print design for a baton, and so far I have not designed anything from scratch.
I am questioning if it has to be 3D-Printed? People have been making miniatures for hundreds or more years. There are thing and methods that could be more direct. On the other hand designing a long skinny cylinder with knobby things on the ended and faux ribbon wrapped around it, and maybe tiny tassels at the ends would be a good learning opportunity?
So typing this about that is what is on my mind right now.
Tangent: The Spirit of Christmas Yet To Come is my favorite Christmas Carol spirit/spector. It makes sense it never talks. We are not meant to know about what is to come. We can ask questions, scream questions, whimper questions (oops. quickly turning into an Ingmar Bergman film), and It answers us with stillness and silence. Gives me the chills! Thankfully it does not answer us with a red balloon. Shudder...
