I do give thanks for the positives in my life before I sleep, whether it's called a prayer or acknowledgement of gratitude.

Long gone. I didn’t really have toys after I was 13 or so.

I have a jumping Jack crib toy. His arms and legs move up and down by pulling a string. I think there's a small box of my old toys at my parent's house.

My mother has one of my Amy dolls, some Fisher Price toys such as the house boat and the dream house, and maybe a few plushies. I recently collected some little rag dolls such as Holly Hobbie from her house too.

I'm heartbroken that she threw out my favourite stuffed toys, Twitch (mouse) and Leonard (leopard).

I can still feel and smell them in my mind.

Oh yes to dragonflies. I used to catch them, observe them up close (their eyes!) and let them go unharmed. Butterflies were too delicate for that.

How do you forgive someone for breaking your heart?

I wouldnt really know. I guess if they had a good reason, if they were gentle and caring and still friendly after, if you understand and could see why they did it, and well, if you love them very much.
If the person wasnt an a**hole about it, I think it would be easier to forgive someone for breaking your heart.

Do you mean romantically ? I think that wd heal over time.

If they tried to really ‘make u suffer’ as per my XH and fr no reason n tried to take your kids from you? I don’t think a complete forgiveness can be possible as it impacted innocent children directly

That's a very difficult question. I wonder if "moving on" from someone who breaks your heart is more important in a sense than "forgiving" them? By "moving on", I mean accepting that it happened, that it's in the past and that it doesn't help to fixate on what happened and to leave it in the past and move on.

"Forgiving someone" can mean different things: 1) It can pertain to a situation where the transgressor is actually asking for forgiveness prompting you to choose to either forgive or deny forgiveness and in either case, making the person aware of your decision. 2) It can mean "forgiving" the person in your own mind without any request by or knowledge of your act of "forgiveness". Scenario #2 is perhaps that same as what I describe to be "moving on".

I've had my heart broken many years ago and I did end up "moving on" from it. I don't harbor unforgiveness and never really did.

Above answers seem adequate. I would only add that emotions can stick in our bodies even though we "think" we've let them go...blame the unconscious...

I guess to heal a broken heart is to try to be in a relationship with another person, just as long as you treat them properly.
