Why won't the sadness inside of me go away? Why can't I get anyone to understand how grueling school is for me? Why can't I treat myself better?
I've felt much better inside myself since I gave up trying.
You don't really have to try.
Trying is consciously striving, and it's completely unnecessary because it accomplishes nothing except to make you feel bound up and exhausted.
It's like the people who grip the seatbelt in a car and brace against the floor pan when it's going to crash.
That's not going to do anything, is it?
If they relax and accept that the crash is going to happen, they sustain fewer injuries.
I think school may be gruelling for you because you've accepted that it will be, and so you tense up in preparation for the "crash".
I used to feel the same about work.
Now I don't try at work.
It's actually made me work more effectively because I'm not getting in the way of myself by trying.
Everyone is horrified by this, but I say
try not.
That's my terrible piece of advice for the day.
