I think I'm going to try and catch up on podcasts today. Stuff You Should Know, Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!, Brain Stuff, Cabinet of Curiosities, and Lore.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater I'm not concerned about. I have all the episodes that were available ____1 years ago as MP3 files on CDs, and I bought the collection. Interesting story behind the show. Himan Brown created an anthology series back in the 1970s (so long ago, right?2). At the time I bought the collection, all of the original tapes still existed, in pristine quality. However, Himan Brown would not release them. So fans of the show, who recorded the episodes off the radio, and donated the recordings. Sometimes recordings were made with an inexpensive a microphone and cassette tape player. So one gets reasonable quality, complete with commercials from the 1970s. That's actually pretty cool. Anyway, that is what my collection is made up of. I have not found any place that says Himan Brown has released the master tapes yet. I guess the only master tapes people are interested in today are those from that short lived music group, The Beatles.
Anyway, time to catch up on podcasts while I work on the valentines day project for FF62. I just changed it to two color, something I've never done. LOL It turned out to be two color, but funky things happened, like solid shape were no longer solid. I obviously don't know what I'm doing.
It's be okay in the end.
1 - I don't remember how long ago it was. 5 years, 10 years, 15 years? I haven't a clue.
2 - I am beginning to think anything posted about a time before 1990 is "ancient history." So, I should treat them as such. I love dating things with the phrase "during the last century."
New unit of measurement, the Van Dyke. Using Dick Van Dyke's age as a unit of measurement. So I could say one Van Dyke ago, Lon Chaney had finished The Blackbird, directed by Tod Browning. February 13, 1926 was the release date.
The U.S. is only two and a half Van Dykes old this year. I remember when we celebrated the two Van Dyke anniversary.
Adjustments will need to be made with Mr. Van Dyke has another birthday. That's okay. We already have a Century. So if a Van Dyke is longer than a Century, that's fine. What if a Van Dyke is a constantly variable unit of time down to the second.
