I have to admit that I have no idea Until I saw this photo, it didn't even occur to me that ducklings practice flying like other bird chicks. I knew that the adults can fly, or at least non-domestic ducks can, but seeing ducklings fly caused me some cognitive dissonance for a moment. Kind of like seeing flying penguins

Can they even fly with those stubby little wings? Somehow it doesn't seem aerodynamically possible. It's probably more of a controlled falling at that age.
