The optimum ramming speed of a shipmounted battering ram is 5 knots. 7 knots is too fast, and the ram may get stuck.

The Horten Brothers discovered radar stealth by accident. They built a flying wing, then flew it and discovered that radar wouldn't pick it up.
Something quite similar happened with the SR71.

In the Middle Ages, the belief that birds chose their mates on St. Valentine's Day led to the idea that boys and girls would do the same. Up through the early 1900's, the Ozark hill people in the U.S. thought that birds and rabbits started mating on February 14, a day for them which was not only Valentine's Day but Groundhog Day as well.

Had World War II lasted into 1946, Germany would have produced a fighter which looked a whole bunch like the MiG-15.
No coincidence. The MiG-15 is based off that German design, which was called the Ta-183.

If the Thompson rifle/submachine gun makes it look like the buttstock was an afterthought, that's exactly the case.
The M1921 Lightning was a pistol.
