There was a paddle boat at one of the places I stayed last week, but I didn't use it.
They're really fun though! I like them a lot.

I used to enjoy paddleboating as a kid. I haven't done much of it since then, though.

How about kayaks? (I like one-person kayaks)

I kayaked years ago when I was about 20, just on calm water. It was fun!

On Sunday I passed a random family who was kayaking, while I was in the boat. It looked so pretty and colourful. I debated trying it again but I don't think I have enough balance or strength since my stroke.

(There are photos of the kayakers in Post a Pic).

Only with myself----or with my lover.

I wish I could just stay on a kayak in the middle of a lake or big river all day.

Have you ever swam in a small-to-moderate sized river?

Yes, but I prefer to jump in to fresh water from a boat or floating dock, rather than using the water's edge.

You likely know why. 8O

Do you like canoeing? I think that's more romantic than kayaks.

It's a little more difficult than kayaking----and requires cooperation between two or more people. That's probably why it's more romantic.

I've been stuck on canoes in the middle of a lake on more than one occasion. And I laugh about it to this day! I once had to drag a canoe maybe a quarter mile for some reason or other---I forgot the reason.

Have you seen the sunset while you're out on a boat?

Of course! It's quiet and idyllic to watch the sun go down. That's the best time to boat, when the sun isn't so bright or hot, and there's less traffic or glare on the water. By late July and August, the mosquitoes are usually gone.

Did you ever write a paper you thought was terrible and get a high grade?

Not terrible....but pretty mediocre...

Same question.

I don't remember, but probably. I also wrote some that I thought were stellar and received average grades, but I don't remember the names of specific papers.

Would you like to get a (new) pet?

No, I already have one.

Same question.

No! My son wants every animal he sees. We have two (loud) parakeets, a crested gecko, and a dog. That's enough for me.

Did you ever try smoking?

I saw fluffy little kitten sisters today, in the pet shop.

I smoked VERY briefly to be cool, when I was about 14. It made me very sick even though I couldn't inhale.

YUCK. Lesson learned.

I've never inhaled a cigarette. I inhaled marijuana when I was 18---only once.

Same question.

I never could inhale either. That was college. I "smoked" filterless cigarettes to seem like an extra bad boy.

Have you been to Munich?

No, but my brother has.

Have you ever been in hot air balloon?

No,but I frequent the 'comments' sections of certain UK online newspapers, and there's a lot of 'hot air' there.

Do you read the comments section of online newspapers.
