Hugs to you and your son.
I definitely recommend the dog. I have a therapy dog for PTSD and can't imagine how I survived without him. Your son will love having a companion and it will put your mind at ease. Thumbs down to the retainer fee.

I just sang several Lion King songs in Japanese.

Go, me!

Wow. I didn't realize you were dealing with that. I'm so glad you were able to get the dog.

Thank you. I see your updates about your son and feel great compassion for what you're going through. We should chat some time. I've dealt with the scummy side of the court system as well. I feel for you.

I read Villette because of you, a fantastic masterpiece esp considering it's about an ATYPICAL WOMAN without ever falling into generalities. Amazing that it was written back then, when even now fiction struggles with such characters.

You told me to! Did you like the ending? To me it seemed truly realistic, not depressing but real.

I adored the ending! It almost made me sick with want and despair! Charlotte had written a different ending, presumably more definite and upsetting (no spoilers) based on the outcome of her relationship with Constantin Héger in Brussels. Her father Patrick was furious and bade her rewrite on the spot. She refused to placate him, and drafted her famous words with intended ambiguity. I adore the relationship between Lucy and Emanuel and believe it was one of the finest in literature.

I'm so excited to have a Villette friend. My friends and colleagues have always preferred Jane.

Spoiler Alert to Brontë Enthusiasts:

"Mr. Bronte was anxious that her new tale should end well, as he disliked novels which left a melancholy impression upon the mind and he requested her to make her hero and heroine (like the heroes and heroines in fairy-tales) 'marry, and live very happily ever after.' The idea of M. Paul Emanuel's death at sea was stamped on her imagination until it assumed the distinct force of reality; she could no more alter her fictitious ending than if they had been facts which she was relating. All she could do in compliance with her father's wish was so to veil the fate in oracular words, as to leave it to the character and discernment of her readers to interpret her meaning."

(The Life of Charlotte Brontë, Elizabeth Gaskell, 1857).

Haha, that 'veiled' ending actually intensified it and made it all the more poignant! Truly embedded the impression in the reader's mind...as if it is one's own heartbreak and grief!!

I love your enthusiasm fr it!

My son's nurse (old nurse, she left after my XH tried to get her fired for volunteering to be a witness for me) had a similar (internal) life as Lucy. Different life circumstances etc. but similar in so many ways.

She told me once that she knew for a fact that she had undiagnosed ASD

(which FYI had nothing to do with her life story, the bad situations that were imposed on her were in my opinion entirely her dad's fault as well as her family's. her life story was one of principles, independence, and determination, similar to Lucy's)

Amazing how such women (perhaps you are one of them) rise to the occasion for others, show such noble characters, have high moral code for themselves (e.g. Lucy didn't ever want to complain of her situation or seek out sympathy), even though others do not know how hard their life is.

They still feel the pain, yet adhere to principles. To a degree that others cannot.

As u can tell, I totally love my son's ex nurse. I think she is one of the top human beings in the world. (She taught him to walk by working hard daily, to a degree nobody else did, inclkuding therapists). She has a special power with innocent children, he trusted and listened to her more than anyone even me.

just like how Lucy was respected by the girls. And she had that inner fire/talent (like how Lucy did, e.g. when she did the acting role) of other things too. Very complex just like Lucy. I told her I read a book about a woman just like her.

She has severe fibromyalgia and on so many meds for that too :(
Living here without family for so many years and sending majority of money to her family home e.g. for her niece's school

No matter what that lady will go to heaven.

A certain b---d initials '.P.M.' slowly-faced not only to me but to others as well. Surly to only me?, in high school such surliness was delimited. D--- inferiority complexes of the expressed 'underclass' hegemonic hypermasculine kind, so poisonous that it can burn in a pit. The last facebook avatar of that b---d cheerily on top of a car comes to my mind.

Dumb f---k probably wouldn't remember me; being triggered to wander around and look at ppl whether you like them or not is the 'life-line' of why social media is prevalent and profitable.

I'm a little speechless right now. Excuse me while I compose myself and ... bless you, Blooie.

It must be "ask stupid questions" day for me.

I know I'm thick, but that was a bit hurtful.
Yes, it was hard for me to understand.
But I'll shut up about it now.

The evil witch always hated the ballerina, so she finally turned her into a cabbage.
