She hasn't texted for a while.

definitely the latter. A few weeks ago, my sister went on a date (none of us knew despite meeting the guy as a family, and liking him etc) left the house without telling anyone, disappeared no response to calls or texts or emails or WhatsApp .. hours, until 3 AM (she lvies with my brothers, and everyone was worried as she had work the next day and it's very unlike her). her phone was charged as sometimes it showed as 'busy' but she answered nobody's calls, not even her friends' …
her Best friend was worried too. I even got the boyfriend's number and called him and texted him to just plz let us know etc

At that poi`nt I had called the police who were over, she was on a missing persons list, my uncle and aunt had come from another city, worried etc.

She called me at 2.55 AM, all embarrassed.. the cops said they still needed to see her in person as part of protocol.

she ended up asking the cops to meet her at the cinema where she was and ended up returning at 5 aM or later.
