In the movie Zootopia there is a news reporter in both the Canadian and American versions who is a moose with a "Canadian" accent named Peter Moosebridge. He is a spoof of Peter Mansbridge, a Canadian news anchor (although he was born in England). He actually did the voice for the moose.

I read in some other countries he's a different animal in the movie.

People here are mostly estranged from other countries (and don't qualify for anything)or so to speak.

Never to trust anybody for anything. From now on, I stay locked in my room, only to come out to use the bathroom, and make my meals. I'm tired of being everybody's slave!

That newer version of Visual Studio Express isn't always an upgrade, and had to downgrade from 2012 to 2010.

Just wait til you try 2015... ;-)

I learned today that between their final, last, almost ready to release version of SQL Server 2016 and the final production version Microsoft made some more-than-incremental changes, some of which have really annoying bugs.

Ooof! I forgot to post my original reason for checking in to this thread:

I learned that the automatic ice maker in the freezer at work has a hidden, normally unseeable heating element on the bottom to help dislodge the ice when the motor pushes on it. I also learned that a second-degree burn only 4mm in diameter can still hurt.

Learned that tears have a different chemical composition if they are emotional or other, i.e. from faking or from cutting an onion (Thank you CSI:NY)

Octopuses (or octopi, either plural can be used) are on the list of animals that must be given anesthetic when undergoing ex[perimental surgery, because they are highly intelligent. This rule is usually only applied to vertebrates.

I've been reading up on octopuses because I watched Finding Dory and wanted to see how similar Hank is to them. They are actually difficult to keep in captivity because they are smart enough to figure out how escape to escape from their tanks, so an octopus slithering around an aquarium building trying to avoid being caught by humans isn't all that unusual. Although it's probably unusual for them to talk, drink coffee and learn life lessons from an amnesiac regal blue tang. :)
