I have finally worked out that I have been using the word 'it's' as a possessive it.
It's only taken me about 40 years to realise this.
I will start to use 'its' properly now.

my mom made that mistake in an essay on hummingbirds in secondary school. it cost her her A+. she never made that mistake again and kept me from making it.

I can type in perfect technical English for many hours, annunciation however eludes my lazy Colorado accent.

I imagine both of these have probably helped your relationships over the years.
My problem is remembering to use both of these unspoken rules instead of just when I want to.
