I figured out why "fat chance" and "thin chance" mean the same thing today!
Me: The English language is weird... Why do "fat chance" and "thin chance" mean the same thing?
Friend: Well it's because "fat chance" is a sarcastic phrase, of course!
Me: ... IT'S SARCASTIC??? 
Friend: You never knew that?
Me: NO. This is life-changing!

I never really thought about it, and asked a couple other people to make sure.
Me: Did you know that the phrase, "fat chance" is sarcastic?
Classmate #1: No duhhhhh... What did you think it was?
Me: I-I really have no idea.
Classmate #1: How did you not know it was sarcasm your whole life?
Me: Well I'm sorry I'm a bit slow about this kind of thing.
