I wear a red sweater with zipper (I guess you suppose to call that a cardigan). I wear another sweater underneath, because I get cold fairly quickly.

I'm not a religious person, so for me it's not a historical fact. That doesn't automatically make it a metaphor either I think. It probably depends on the intent the writer had with his description of paradise. Maybe it was originally written down as a story for entertainment purposes and was gradually turned into something that could be used to teach something to the common man. Traditionally the writer would have been Moses, although it's hard to know for sure if someone like him really existed, because sources from centuries ago are extremely hard to verify. (I like questions like this. It gives me the opportunity to philosophise for a bit.)

Do you like the way modern society is structured and if not, what would you like to see changed?

no, i would outlaw all evil lawyers and law clerks, evil CEOs and companies infringing on human rights, dictators liKE Sisi in egypt need to be jailed, anyone who uses illegal weapons (eg white phosphorus, uranium EG usa in iraq, regularly israel) needs to stop , the factories that make that stuff need to be closed and destroyed, stop bombing innocent people around the world while arming the very people you claim to be fighting and thereby contributing to the conflicts and giving lots of people full incentive (however wrong) to join the very groups you claim to be against though u arm them directly, give the UN power to actually do something (and abolish the hypocritical thing where US can just vote against something and BOOM! criminal state-sponsored terrorism reigns) instead of letting slaughter happen while sending peacekeepers (including pakistani soldiers, who volunteer the most from all countries in the UN missions, at least up to 2010 which is when i read that, mentioning because that's why i care so much), to places to basically 'feed' the victims , slightly (barely) protect -- but no power to actually stop the oppressors and mass murderers -- nope, cuz then that's illegal? bosnia?
i would also make severe autistics get services before anyone , instead of relegating for them the 'leftover -if that' that less severe cases get. so you know, they could actually have a chance at basic human rights?
i would make Saudis build public libraries stop building malls and stop bombing yemen along with USA, get china to free people in internment camps (they force their wives to sleep with chinese officials now, while keeping the men there) etc. anyone who didnt listen would have to face actual consequences, not just 'risking bad press'
feel really happy typing all that... now if only it could come to be.

In the US, I’d like to have national healthcare, stricter gun control, free university, and a better public education system. Sorry kids but you need to have a longer school year!

i'm going to hog this and add (just remembered) :
teachers in this version of an improved society, get paid 10,000 per month, while lawyers get paid the salary teachers currently have to live on (i.e. not much). if they are good ones, they can get a decent living still, but not as extravagant as it is now.

and no money goes to arms dealings and weapon making

Cable. I remember how dreadfully slow the other offerings were. I'd be lying though if I said I didn't miss the beeps emitted from the dialup modems of the 90s.

What's one thing that never fails to give you a sense of nostalgia?
