Sometimes, I see purple from the corner of my eye.
Sometimes I see a man when I'm looking out the corners of my eyes. I look in that direction and he's not there.
I sometimes see dark, shapeless shadows when I close my eyes, mainly while trying to go to sleep, though not very often, and they seem darker than the closed eyelid darkness. Often when I see these, they change sizes or shapes, even though they don't have a specific shape I can describe, just dark shadows.
When I was much younger, I would see those things when trying to sleep and they would scare me, the bigger ones, and I would be unable to sleep. But they always went away when I opened my eyes. And then I would get out of bed and start pacing because I did not want to see those shadows again. I see them sometimes still, but they no longer bother me.

How else can I get respect? Because right now it's basically like this:
Peer: What do you know? You're just a stupid little [word not found].
Me: I got into MIT.
Peer: ...Oh.
I hate having to rely on stuff like this to get reluctant social respect. It makes me seem like a braggart, and I really don't want to be one.
