Why is the style of music called hip hop?

Hip Hop performers are required to hold a particular posture on stage to look the part - shoulders low, hips thrust forwards. This leads to a sinister condition where the hip bone spontaneously disjoints itself under little pressure.
If holding the hip hop posture for extended periods, you must adopt a springy, light footed walk whilst keeping your shoulders hunched to prevent the above condition! This preventative measure is called a "hip-saving hop". People using this silly walk in public are called 'hip hoppers'. Their music was named after them.
