Someone asked me why don't I just strive for a better quality of life instead of wanting a girlfriend. I feel like she was telling me to give up on love.

Have you considered learning to drive, kura? I feel like driving would be a good stepping stone to your independence and it's a lot cheaper (relatively cheaper?) than moving out with a part-time job. Plus, you will need to drive for transportation if you are living on your own unless you live right downtown (which will cost more in rent and defeat the savings of using public transport).

If you could drive and get out of your mother's house more often by yourself, you'd feel a lot more independent and it would be cheaper than moving out.

Just my two cents worth.

I can't, because of my general lack of vision in my right eye, and various other vision difficulties.

Right now I'm trying to figure out why I don't like myself much at all, and why I keep falling into the same destructive patterns over and over again.

self-esteem tends to come from messages we get about ourselves very early in life. most of us aren't stuck with that, though. a book that helped me is "the self-esteem companion" by a bunch of authors, one of them is a PhD named mckay. it's on amazon. there are visualization exercises that helped me heal lacks from different times in my development and other general positive visualizations. i would think that visualizations might work well for you given your creativity.

we have a saying in my 12-step group that reminds us to give ourselves some leeway that all humans need: progress, not perfection.

I am thinking of leaving the forums once again. I hate how I will never have a success story to share so there is no reason for me to stay.

But I have no special talents or unique abilities. I don't have any songs written, I don't have any comics or manga drawn (I don't even try drawing anymore because I am terrible), and I don't have any stories published or written.

Don't let a mad world convince you that your success is what defines you.

Please share this with every parent u know
Parents foolishly leave kids alone with youtube vids or leave it on Autoplay
I already mentioned here before (to Raleigh) on this thread sbout my sons therapist telling me all this perverse stuff showing up on kids videos then her friends mom caught her daughter about to do dangerous (sexual) things with toys based off what she saw on Youtube

Also about other more subversively demented or perverse things in cartooms on youtube pretending to be somethinv else
I wrote about it a lot

I also saw this egg monster thing a few times when my sons therapisf was showing me n quickly switched it off at it bounced in randomly into the videos n looked so creepy

Now it turned out it even tells kids to kill themselves or that it will kill them etc

A lady got a parrot that said nasty words.
Whenever it cussed she would put it the freezer for a couple of minutes to punish it.
Finally the parrot said "okay I'll stop cussing!"
"But just one question. What the **** did that ****ing turkey say?"

No, she was saying that in her opinion you are unlikely to get a girlfriend unless you strive for a better quality of life.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with her opinion, I'm just translating it for you.
