I don't have enough executive function to plan ahead, find an umbrella, and remember to bring it home. Also, my hands are always full because I have my dog's lead in one hand and often my cane in the other.

I don't mind getting rained on. Umbrellas don't work very well in the wind anyway.

Do you ever scoot outside in socks or bare feet in the winter?

Well, that is also an issue with them: how is one meant to keep track of all the humans, all the cars, all the side passages and keep a brolly angled correctly to changing wind directions?!

I always wear slippers or crocs indoors, I do go outdoors in them regularly.
I’ve gone to a shop in pyjamas and dressing gown before now though.

Have you ever done that?

I've gone in my shleppies (pyjamas) late at night, yes.

I pop out in bare feet or socks all the time despite the weather. People think I'm nuts. It's too much bother to find shoes if I'm already comfy in my fuzzy socks.

Do you move about quietly in your house?

Generally, although if I’m here on my own and have a particularly interesting series of thoughts I leap and twirl about the place.
Otherwise I’m very quiet: I regularly scare my wife because she doesn’t know I’m in the room until I kiss her on the back of her neck... and then I get scared by her jumping in fright.

Have you ever unintentionally ‘crept up’ on someone?

I'm stealthy like a cat! :cat:

I move quietly whether I intend to or not. Yes, I've startled people before.

When you are angry do you shut down or get noisy?

I’ve got quite a long fuse... but when it goes, I explode like a bomb... then spend hours shaking and terrified, and the next two to three days drifting empty through a world that seems insubstantial.

Same question.

Did you sleep with a plushie as a child, and / or do you now?

When I was very little a 4’ long stuffed toy Eeyore that I mentioned in a post several pages back, then a polar bear teddy. Then I took a towel to bed, and now it’s an old dressing gown.

I don’t know what a plushie is 8O

Do you have to arrange your hands and head in a particular way to sleep?

Edited to correct autocorrect

A plushie is a stuffed animal toy (Eeyore or polar bear teddy) (good taste!)

My brother slept with a shoelace. :P

Yes. I sleep on my belly, facing to the left, with my arms above my head. Left foot against right knee in a "4" shape. Right toes hanging over the end of the bed. Nothing else will do.

same question

On my right side, right hand under bottom pillow, left hand between pillows, back slightly curled knees forward and feet back.
And there must be fabric between my thighs and between my feet.
And I must have something soft and comforting pressed against a spot about a half inch to the left of where by bottom ribs meet my sternum.

What was the subject of your published papers you mentioned the other night?

Sometimes I need to sleep with my left fist between my belly button / lower ribs. I like the pressure. My lower back has to be covered. I like to bunch the duvet between my legs too (that sounds really weird? lol)

I published some literary papers, criticism and reviews.

Have you ever paid a cleaning service to clean your house?

Well, having your own skin touching itself is just downright weird in some places.

Nope, never had the money to contemplate doing that.
Well: the estate agents at the flat I rented eight years ago did require me to pay for cleaning out of the deposit.
Apparently oil paints and carpets aren’t meant to be in close alignment. :P
he mutters to himself about the heinous crime against both taste & art of pastel carpets

Same question.

I hear cars are never supposed to touch, either! Huh!

I paid someone once or twice a long time ago, but I do a better job.

Do you like sushi?

Yeah, what’s that about?

Never tried it.
(I don’t do fish)

Do you find yourself eating food you detest because handling you gag reflex is easier than the drama?

Nope. I'm fine with the drama; I don't eat anything I detest.

Do you remember the wonderful scent of finger paint? It's one of my favourites.

That faint chalky powdery smell?
Almost musty in a way?
Hadn’t remembered at all until you mentioned it.

Did you need to work to remember things at school/uni, or didit just all go in somewhere and re-emerge later when prompted?
