Caterpillars and grasshoppers, just writing it down makes me shiver.

If you were a writer, what genre would you write?

Literary biographies, or poetry. I like the idea of young adult fiction but I don't have enough confidence.

I have two scenarios in my head already but i am not really good at writing. Probably fantasy-romance genre.

I tried writing a fantasy novel once, unfortunately it only had one character: which was basically me (or me as I was then) ... and no plot or world building. Abandoned that one before I got lost in it.

Two of my poems have been published though.

Do you enjoy academic dissections of how works of art/music/literature work?

Not necessarily as it often takes away the magic. But it can lead to greater understanding...of context, social, historical and personal from the creator of the work...

depends on the subject to be honest. But overall no. I hate when they state the obvious a dozen times too...its fine to have to refer to but I generally dislike them

As blooie says, it depends. If they repeat the obvious and split hairs for the sake of it, no. If they actually give context and insight into how both the artist and others see things, then yes, a lot, it's why I like reading good biographies too.

My mind tends to focus on details, so taking into consideration context and different perspectives helps me understand the bigger picture.

i don't give it that much significance, some people are just not compatible, is all.

I like different perspectives, I wish more people would enjoy such conversations without taking disagreement personally. But you're right, some people are just incompatible.

I like different perspectives but sometimes it gets boring when you don't have anything in common with the other person.

Do you like personality tests?

I enjoy learning possible different perspectives but there are little people you can discuss like that without things sliding into "holy wars".

I don’t care for them. They only offer a partial analysis. They don’t take into account the fact that people are individuals.

I do, it's beautiful.
