Yes to both surreal artists and mosaics.

What's your favourite artist(or more than one)?

As in paintings, Alphonse Mucha and Monet
As in music, too many but Stevie Nicks and Buck tick comes to mind.

Adding in architects: Gaudi, Pugin, Master James of St George, Cullinan, Louis Kahn & Renzo Piano.

Favourite building?

Aah too many to choose, i like art nouveau style, but i love arabic architecture too like Alhambra.. I also loved the shrines in Japan.

The Sagrada Familia is breathtaking: fond memory of walking round it and soaking it all in
Particularly liked the new portico: thought the marrying of Henry Moore influenced sculptures to Gaudi’s original design worked very well.
My favourite building is still my late grandfathers house though: C14th timber framed manor with many subsequent additions & alterations a few miles from the Vale of White Horse.
Wonderful place to play as a kid: nonsensical level changes, hidden rooms behind chimneys, walls cutting through the middle of windows, staircases that lead nowhere. Endless fun

No just not overly ornate or ostentatious which ewww.

Yes, both my wife and I do and it's also a pretty good investment.

I’ve got a few pieces of C18th mahogany furniture, the sort with lions paw feet and swooping curvaceous legs: I like them plain though, carving yes, paint and gold leaf... why would anyone defile beautiful wood with that nonsense?

I like antiques----but I don't really get into the financial aspects of the antique thing.

I don't feel the financial aspect is necessarily bad; I just don't have the patience for it.


Every bought a car at an auto auction?

I've never bought a car from an auction, no, although theres one near my house I want to check out. Both my saabs ive bought from private sellers.
