Oh, to do these in public!!

I take great comfort in scents: this is going to sound REALLY weird, but one of them is my own scent - it's the familiarity, I guess?

If things get really bad, I would do it sometimes in public (for those who watched A Fish Called Wanda, no I don't sniff my own armpits  ), but I would quickly sniff my own arm while pretending I scratch my back or something, There, I'm disgusting

Well thats what I say too but maybe in your family there wete always ppl like that and it was written off as quirky or sensitive..
Also maybe your family didnt want to face it and accommodated (seldom I think in your case) or tolerated your differences instead of facing them.
Also teachers etc had a duty to at least refer or suggest referrals for students like us but didnt. And they often saw the struggles n issues or got mad ..but they also failed us in a way i think..

Like my dad pulled me out of college without warning and said 'you're too sensitive.'
Which i told the judge (she asked if I had even passed high school.)
and she sneered, ' sounds like something from the 18th century.'
But she didnt realize i was legit having panic attacks at college having trouble breathing etc.. couldn't tolerate it. Couldn't sustain focus..etc.

he only told me recently why he did that. But at the time he never thought to instead try for a psych's evaluation...

I don't like the name Kevin.

I like my own scent too, if you're disgusting then so am I.

Something else I would do if I hadn't had it drilled into my brain that it isn't socially acceptable for anyone except young children to do, is carry my stuffed tiger shark Lilia with me everywhere. (I do sleep with her and my stuffed komodo dragon Jordy, and I bring them with me on trips so I can sleep with them even away from home. But I resist the temptation to bring them out in public with me.)

I would carry my stuffed bunny Bloomer around too. Or other ones as in my imagination they wanted to get out too.

My brother had a stuffed tiger that he carried everywhere. It was oddly realistic except for the size, which was still large, for a child.
He received it from my dad when he was sad as my dad was leaving on a business trip..

I brought my stuffed toy in my bag to school. In high school too. The first real gift my XH gave me was a stuffed toy of Simba which was quite thoughtful actually.

I don't think there's anything wrong with stuffed toys. Except for Hello Kitty.

:P :P :P LOL You're too funny, blooie!

I wouldn't take any plushies, just my monster named John and my tickle.

Maybe my weighted blanket to wear on my shoulders ... but that might impede the "Ta Da!" gymnastics pose.

Decisions decisions.

Thank goodness you signed on. With insomnia I'm just talking to myself here...spamming the boards as usual...

Is the (must not be named) easing up now?

There's live electricity submerged under the water because the huge fans are still running and the flood happened again.

It was deeper this time. Literally rolling waves of water like a tsunami of sewage.

Insurance said that the fans are all safe and grounded and waterproof and they will shut off automatically if the water gets too deep -- without killing me by electrocution. They will come asap in the morning to fix.

In the meantime I'm still scared and not going downstairs. I'm quarantined and shopping for a dog friendly hotel with a pool, a spa, and good walking trails.

I'll tell you if I happen to die, but so far so good even though I'm freaked.

That song is really good. A song i like that sounds similar to that and same style of writing is This is the Life by Weird Al.

Never tried it, I do hold soft fabric items against a particular place on my chest though.

What’s your most comfortable sitting position?

Lying down.

Same question.

I couldn't possibly agree that you're disgusting, which means neither of us is. Thank you!

LOL

Very counter-intuitive, but on stools or one of those chairs with long rigid backrests, everything else f***s my back. On my sofa, I often sit with my legs crossed under me as it seems to prevent me from slouching.

Do you have any pets?

On my behind? Uhmmm. Same question I guess!

(This was supposed to answer the other question, but I didn't post in time. Ammending to write this as the answer could be confusing!)
