What is the question?
I never thought about it till now but actually the doctor that we owe my son's life was aTurkish lady but her last name became English now since she married somebody.

Everyone else specialist doctors. feeding clinic.. All complacent while his body was skeletal n he couldn't even sit upright n choked on everything even water.

This was till age 3 she saw him for the first time and was horrified at the fact he wasn't even placed on the wait list for G tube surgery..she said it was a matter of life and death. The others were just saying no to g tube n essentially we were made to live in the hopes that my constant efforts to feed him wd eventually pay off..

She and a nurse who I guess is Christian (since for some reason ppl are mentioning the staffs religion?( pushed him to the forefront 'pulled some strings ' n he got it n started improving.

Turkish people love my brother Mustafa. He gets free things everywhere just because of his name. Also he is sort of charismatic.

That or they are fine but the shifts for doctors and nurses both, is so inhuman and unsustainable that it messes with anyone's train of thought.

He was really rude and dismissive. He was trying to send me home as a drunk because I had slurred speech, I couldn't stand up, one eye was shut, and I was laughing like a hyena because of the Pseudo-Bulbar Affect. Believe it or not I had my stroke in front of my GP, with family members present, and she sent me by ambulance. Even with my GP saying "she's had a stroke", the emergency doctor didn't want to give me MRI or clot busting medicine. He treated me like a freak show even as my family implored "THIS IS NOT NORMAL. SHE IS NOT DRUNK." Thank goodness for nurse Jamie. She argued loudly with the doctor for my MRI. Without her, I could have died. So much for the adverts about seeking medical care within "the golden hour" after a stroke. This douchebag wasted about 2.5 hours testing me for alcohol and drugs, and tried to send me home.

Did you ever have Chicken Pox?

That is actually disgusting. He was putting your life in danger from pure arrogance thinking his presumptions held more weight.

What's the next big cleaning job you need to do in your house?

Actually never mind... Upon consideration I think he actually enjoyed seeing someone in that state. It is not just presumptions...

Ignoring a GPs statement like that ...yeah I think he just gets off of other's distress.

I need to fix my closet and have a crib full of my things (being treated like a cabinst) that has to be looked at... Everything else is clean and organized now!! After weeks....

My wife is rebuilding the bath surrounds.
So probably cleaning up all the sawdust etc from that!

Expecting to be summoned to Oxfordshire at some point to help sort out my late grandfathers mansion full of antiques... which the museums don’t want to take as whole collections.
And make the garden look presentable for sale.

What’s the most expensive bit of procrastination you’ve ever committed?

Weeks later when I was attending a stroke clinic he was one of the doctors on rotation. I didn't know until I arrived but when they told me I would be seeing him I had a full-on panic attack / meltdown and refused. Then of course they saw my behaviour and thought I was drunk again, or treated me like I was psychotic. Again, I finally got a nurse to listen and understand. I was switched to a different doctor for that visit but never did receive an apology, despite having explained everything to the nurse. This was all before I knew I was autistic. I wonder if I would have been treated better if they knew I was autistic, or whether it would have been the same gong show. (Please note, other than this one doctor everyone else in my treatment and recovery was great).

Karamazov: I'll take the antiques off your hands!

Me: My next big cleaning job other than flood related stuff, is to purge my bedroom. I've had too much stuff accumulate and I don't like stuff.

Karamazov: Expensive procrastination? I'll have to think on that one. I'll get back to you later lol

Hmmm... what are the shipping charges to Canada for a ton of blue and white china, plus several crates of C18th pudding basins and various assorted fabric printing blocks going back to Jacobean times.
Also: the revenant panelling from Winston Churchill’s childhood home (bombed in the war: previous owner installed it in the front hall at chez grandad) if you like dark mahogany walls.

Wow.

Those people were waiting to pounce at the first sign of distress.
But... A real apology still helps after the fact.

Expensive? I don't know. Probably everything I do is an expensive mistake long term...

My anxiety and pessimism can paradoxically be allies against procrastination... At least in the last 2 decades or so I only had annoyances from it, no disasters.

Which makes me wonder, did it ever happen - even very rarely - for a trait you don't like to end up being helpful in some way?

I have a habit of keeping every receipt, email, document or paper trail in my life. I learned this the hard way via trauma and having to defend myself against fraud or deception. I tried really hard to stop keeping everything because I thought it was just a trauma response bordering on paranoia, but it's come in helpful. I used my excellent documentation to stop a troll on WP and also to win some legal battles. I guess I'll keep the habit even though I'd love to declutter my papers / computers of things I likely won't need.

My negative traits..

most of them that were due to asd turned out to be helpful ..because having them helps me in understanding my kids and vocalizing what they can't but i know since i was similar.. To professionals.. It has come in v useful...
I also know instinctively how to approach them because of this and a few therapists over the years were actually v impressed n thought I had had training..

I've done nine major ones, almost back to back since 1997. Some are several years long.

Solidarity.
