That made me smile. Weird dream, indeed.

but they were really lovable fruits, you shoulda seen 'em! kids would love 'em. i'd have picked 'em up and cradled 'em and caressed 'em and made 'em feel loved and comfortable, if only i were capable of lucid dreaming. or i would have clobbered those cold-blooded profs who were damaging them by tossing the defenseless fruits into that hard metal bowl in the first place.

And that made me smile. ^_^

So many people mention their zombie apocalypse dreams and it makes me feel lonely. I have had recurring zombie apocalypse dreams for years, but haven't had one in months now. Some might say that is good and healthy, but it feels like something is missing. My nightly adventures have abandoned me. Ahh, the good old days: sneaking through darkened cities and endless labyrinthine buildings, hiding from and taking out zombies, trying in vain to help the hapless humans.... Good times.

at least the owner of those fruits didn't subject his bananas to the cold shoulder. you should never refrigerate bananas.

i had a dream that was loosely based on my witnessing a news story about people caring for bird chicks and raising them and then releasing them into the wild.

in my dream, some people had found 2 dodo (an extinct bird of new zealand) eggs, and somehow the eggs were still viable, so they incubated the eggs and 2 dodo hatchlings emerged.

it was an internationally covered story like "dodo's retrieved from extinction!!".

the time came when the dodo chicks became adults, and they were due to be released back into the wild.

the day that they were to be released, there were many camera crews to record the event, and the people that had incubated and cared for the dodo chicks went to a cliff with the birds gathered in their hands.

in the same manner as a person releases a homing pigeon, they raised the birds up and brought them back down in a swinging motion, and on the third swing they thrust the dodos into the air and the dodo's fell to their deaths on the rocks below.

they had not taken into account that dodo's could not fly.

it was both extremely funny and extremely sad at the same time.
a curious sweet and sour dream that woke me up.

reminds me of the true story of the english firefighters who rescued a cat stuck up in a tree, only to run it over on the way back to the firehouse. i suppose it's the thought that counts.

i dreamt that i was in some sort of public venue like an airport, with broad corridors and not much foot traffic out of my sight. the place appeared nearly deserted. i was walking down one broad corridor when all of a sudden this woman materialized- she was dressed in several layers of winter clothing ala "south park"- and she had long auburn hair cascading down about her torso. she saw me and then brightened, and said to me "THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE!" and ran up to me and hugged me tightly and firmly, with much loving affection, and i returned her enclosing embrace, and it was wonderful, emotionally nourishing to this starving dweeb. then all of a sudden, out of the corner of my dream vision, this moorish fella, built like a fireplug and dressed in red tee-shirt and dungarees, swaggered menacingly towards us and the woman disconnected from me and turned into a female moor, also dressed in red T and dungarees, and he chased her into a bedroom which suddenly materialized off to the side of the corridor, and he began molesting her. this alarmed me and i began screaming "STOPSTOPSTOP!" in my usual wimpy wussy impotent way, and i ran outside and screamed "HAAALLLPP! HEEELLLLPP! POH-LEEEECCE!" until my throat was ragged and my cries became a hoarse whisper, when all of a sudden my lungs got a second wind and my shouts became as a foghorn, stentorian and reverberating for blocks around, making the ground vibrate and the air shake. at this point, disturbed neighors [this was nighttime] starting shouting back various insults such as "SHAADDDAAAP! PIPE DOWN, DIPWAD! CAN IT, KOOK!" and the like. suddenly, atop a hill to my left, a police station materialized and a cop came waltzing outside with a look of consternation, saying "why are ya botherin' me? can't you do anything for yourself?" and went back inside. so dejected, i walked back inside and found that the moorish couple and the bedroom had vanished. at that point i awoke in a sweat, and had to work at calming down sufficient to drift back to sleep. upon finally falling back asleep, i was back with the lady who had reverted back to her south park winterwear appearance, but soon she was naked and we were back in the bedroom together under the covers in a mutual embrace, and we just luxuriated being wrapped around each other, sighing and cooing with contentment. then, wouldn't ya just know it, my bladder became painfully distended [in my dream] and i had to disentangle from my dream mate and tell her, "sorry babe but i have to go like a racehorse!" she she cooed back at me, "that's all right sweetheart, take your time and get it all out of your system." so i reluctantly got up out of bed and walked 'round side of it to a chest of drawers and pulled out the bottom drawer as though it was the most natural thing in the world to take a whiz into my dresser, only i couldn't get the bottom drawer open to my satisfaction, and i didn't really want to pee on the green PJs lining its bottom. then all of a sudden a door materialized to the left of the dresser and i entered it and it was a bathroom with a toilet, and as soon as i got ready to pee i awoke for a second time, having to go for real.

I love the dreams I've been having lately. They're really strange, detailed and vivid. I need to get into a habit of writing down my dreams as soon as I wake up so I don't forget them.

I had a dream last night that was at first kinda scary, then it was quite peaceful. I started underwater as many of my dreams start, only to surface and climb onto an iceberg. I felt like I was freezing and was going to die when a polar bear approached me. I was a bit panicked because I figured it was going to maul me and then I collapsed on the ice in exhaustion. I woke up with the bear on top of me and at first I was scared and confused, but then I realized it was trying to keep me warm and prevent me from dying. It was quite a nice dream.

I mean of course I would have died in the water from hypothermia, or the bear would have mauled me, or if a bear did lay on top of me it would crush me in real life, but it was a nice dream none less. I wonder if this dream meant something? It was a very nice turn from the weird/horrific dreams I usually have :?

Bear
To see a bear in your dream, symbolizes independence, the cycle of life, death and renewal, and resurrection. You are undergoing a period of introspection and thinking. The dream may also be a pun on "bare". Perhaps you need to bare your soul and let everything out into the open.
To dream that you are being pursued or attacked by a bear, denotes aggression, overwhelming obstacles and competition. You may find yourself in a threatening situation.
To see a polar bear in your dream, signifies a reawakening. Alternatively, the polar bear symbolizes frigid and cold emotions.

Underwater To dream that you are underwater, suggests that you are being overcome with emotions and are in over your head regarding some situation. You need to gain greater control of your life.
To dream that you are breathing underwater, represents a retreat back into the womb. You want to return to a state where you were dependent and free from responsibilities. Perhaps you are feeling helpless, unable to fulfill your own needs and to care for yourself. Alternatively, breathing underwater is analogous to being submerged in your own emotions.

Iceberg
To see an iceberg in your dream, suggests that you are not utilizing your fullest potential and strengths. Or you are trying to hide under a facade. Alternatively, the dream means that you are not looking deep enough into some decision or problem. You need to look beyond the surface and the obvious.

Cold
To dream that you are cold, indicates that you are experiencing a breakthrough in some area in your life. Alternatively, you may be feeling isolated or emotionally restrained. Your sense of coldness could reflect your feelings about a certain person. The dream may also occur as a result of your immediate environment in which you are really feeling cold.

Warmth
To feel warmth in your dream, signifies hope and unconditional love.

I was in a small city. Some others (unknown, faceless entities) and I were holed up in and around a small building next to a river running through town. The river had just dried up suddenly and unexpectedly, and the people were anxious and afraid. I don't recall feeling much myself--perhaps a curiosity and mild concern for the wellbeing of the river.

I went out to look and saw that the riverbed was all muddy. There were a few other people out there, "official" people, trying to figure out what was wrong with it and to keep people away. I got the impression that that we were supposed to be locked away until the problem was solved, in these little grey buildings just off to the side.

But I went out and stood in the mud in the middle of the river and looked upstream. After a moment, there was a trickle of water, which then turned into a small stream. Calmly yet with a vague sense of eager excitement, I climbed back to the river bank. And then, all at once, the river came rushing back. The officials were surprised, confused, and relieved, but I felt calmly pleased and soon left to continue about my day.

Wow, auntblabby, that's some dream. It sounds very emotional. I'm afraid I'm not much experienced or skilled at the interpretation of dreams, but I will try to share my impressions of the first part of your dream. I hope you'll be kind and not mind if I am completely off track or have nothing very insightful to share. ^_^;

It sounds like you are feeling impotent: unable to help a person you care for and perhaps unable to do much to help yourself; unable to even get anyone to listen to you. The roaring so that the world shakes sounds like tapping into a great inner strength and/or a desperate attempt to express yourself/make yourself heard. But then the reactions of the people suggest to me that perhaps you feel the world is uncaring or cruel; even at your strongest, you cannot get them to listen--more impotence.

I am glad the second part of your dream was more pleasant. Too bad about the interference of bodily functions.

Thank you for the in depth reply Auntblabby :)

This definitely gives me something to think about. From what you said I'm trying to figure out how each of those things could correlate to my life currently :)

Also I found what you said about water to be interesting too. I frequently have dreams that take place in deep water where I'm pursued by sharks like great whites or greenland sharks. I guess that's part of why this dream felt interesting. Instead of a shark trying to eat me, a polar bear gave me warmth to protect me :)

Small Town
To see a small town in your dream, signifies your social environment and sense of community. You are in the thick of town life [hustle and bustle], whether you like it or not, in that small towns are famous for everybody knowing everybody else's business. You are able to deal with people but there is an uncomfortable fit sometimes. There is also the feeling of insignifigance and futility, of being "a fifth wheel," so to speak, regarding the grand scheme of things. To see or dream that you are at the mercy of city government bureaucrats and officials, indicates that you are experiencing a lack of support or power. You feel that you are being bullied or dominated by some powerful source.
Building
To see a building or buildings in your dream, represents the self and the body, as well as the body of society in general, the society around you. If you are outside the buildings looking at them from a distance, this may mean you feel some alienation from your body or from other people, especially if the buildings are gray.
Gray
Gray indicates fear, fright, depression, ill health, ambivalence and confusion. You may feel emotionally distant, isolated, or detached. Alternatively, the color gray symbolizes your individualism or alienation from others.
River To see a river in your dream means you are ready to confront life's challenges and life's twists and turns. A river symbolizes joyful pleasures, peace, prosperity and fertility. If you are crossing a river in your dream, then it represents an obstacle or issue that you need to deal with in order to move closer toward your goal. It is also reflective of a new stage in your life.If the river is muddy, then it indicates that you are in turmoil. To see mud in your dream, suggests that you are involved in a messy and sticky situation. It also suggests that some spiritual cleansing is needed. To dream that you are walking in mud, suggests that you are feeling weighed down by a situation, problem, or relationship. You are feeling frustrated. A dry riverbed represents the absense of spiritual nourishment or edification in your life. To dream that the water starts to flow means that you will find a higher truth to guide your way through life. Still another interpretation could be your desire to wipe everything clean and make a fresh new start. To see a trickle turn into a flood of water which then rushes towards you in your dream, indicates that your worries over a certain matter will eventually be history.
To dream about fears of imprisonment or sequestration by government officials, suggests that you are feeling restrained or censored in your work environment, relationship or situation in your life. You are feeling confined and suffocated. In your waking life you are being restrained in some way, either by your own belief system or by somebody else's. Maybe outdated ways of thinking are preventing you from going forward.
Anxiety
To dream about anxiety, is a reflection of what you may be feeling during your waking life. You may have repressed thoughts, unexpressed emotions, resentment, or hostility that are triggering your anxiety dream. This dream also suggests that you are taking on too many responsibilities, and that your achievements will not be as successful as you had anticipated. You are experiencing anxieties in various aspects of your life. The key to overcoming your fear is to discuss them and deal with them openly.

spot on. despite my best efforts, the locus of personal control remains firmly beyond my grasp.
