hi, tem.
Hi Cathy, How are you?
i'm doing well, just procrastinating for a bit from working on my nursing course. how are you?
I am ok too, getting used to my new role looking after mum. Procrastination was/is a close friend of mine.
How far along are you ?
i got my RN in 2017. shortly after, my husband was diagnosed with leukemia. we had to focus on that for a while. he's pretty well now with chemo for a week every six weeks. fall 2018, i restarted school a couple of courses at a time. I should have my bachelor's of nursing in may. i have to call tomorrow to set up a job interview. thanks for asking.
best of luck looking after your mom. caregivers deserve lots of credit and need to also try to take good care of themselves: sleep, exercise, healthy diet, a bit of recreation - good to see you here. stateside, it's flu shot season. caregivers need the vaccine to protect their charges. if you don't get the flu, you can't spread it to your mom.
I hadn't really thought about me having the flu jab even though I should (heart problems and other issues). My mum has hers every year so I thought that would be ok. I shall see if they will do us both at the same time.
Good luck with the job interview, I hope you finally get what you should have had years ago. It has been quite tough on you regarding your career.
I do try to practise self-care as much as I can. After losing my dog last month my exercise routine has gone out of the window - I am trying to find other ways including a therapy centre which has some very high tech equipment. It will get me out of the house and around other people too. And thank you for crediting carers.
