It was supposed to be peanut soup but it didn't exactly go as planned. When the smoke alarm goes off it's usually not a good sign for your food. What really bothers me is that 80% of it is still perfectly edible but there's no way I'm picking out every one of those burnt grains of barley.

And five months later, I've finally succeeded. It's very good and not burnt.

yesterday i found a lot of canned food in the parking lot @ work. took two cans of black beans, one can of beef stew, one can kidney beans. the rest, gave away to coworkers.

for the first time, ate a can of black beans. usually i eat Mediterranean lentil salad or exotic bean salad but they cost $8 or $6 for 10 or 8 ounces. actually i was kind of excited (for lack of better word) to eat the black beans b/c the photo looked good. they tasted good enough. didn't taste expired, but so tasteless, like it's been on the shelf two f*****g years. also ate the carrots (only) out of the beef stew. surprised canned carrots could taste good enough.

also microwaved "zongzi".
