It occurs to me that I'm overdue for a Star Trek rewatch...

In case anyone was wondering, this is what a burning wind turbine looks like.

I just saw something kinda creepy. We have a lot of those lamps in our house that just turn on when you touch them, and one just randomly turned on! But when I looked behind it, it was just my little weirdo kitty.

^ I wonder if it's the heat from the fire that is causing it to spin (since all of the other turbines are still)...?

I bet as the wind picked up they shut the others down, but this one for some reason wasn't shut down and so caught fire.

^ Ah I suppose that makes sense. I guess it didn't occur to me that they were an input and output device. I makes me wonder what their maximum wind speed intake is.

How did you want to do that because I was wanting to rewatch Star Trek too in isolation. I was thinking going in order all the way up to voyager, I didn't care for the new Enterprise one. I have already done a bit of the animated series off Netflix.

^ I usually do it in this order:
1. TNG
2. DS9
3. VOY

Enterprise grew on me after a while...but I'm not sure if I'll rewatch it.

^ No TOS?

Thats the best one to me, I love watching Star Trek II, III and IV as a trilogy as far the moves are concerned. The first Star Trek movie sucked hard to me. I also like Generations but the movies are a bit hit and miss with me. I like Insurrection more then most people. In fact all the movies are pretty good other then I, XI and XII and no doubt XIII. I like the original series and anything in that next generation era including Deep Space Nine and Voyager. I basically hate anything else. So Enterprise was a complete miss for me and so is anything JJ Abrams touches.

^ Eh, having seen the Original Series once, I appreciate it for what it created, but it doesn't have the same spirit that the Next Generation series have.

My favorite is TNG, with VOY coming in a close second. That being said, the beginning of VOY made me feel really anxious the first time I watched it, so I tend to skip those episodes during times of pre-existing anxiety.

Is it the fact the ship seems doomed and a lot of people die? I admit it has a chaotic back story on how they got to the delta quadrant if I recall. I don't remember much, I was a pretty young teen when I watched it but I remember the doctor died and I think the helmsman did too or at least I remember Tom Paris being offered that position. I don't remember why that position was vacant.

^ It was more to do with the fact that they were suddenly stranded out in the middle of nowhere. The idea of that happening has always made me anxious.

^ Oh and I remember feeling really sad for Janeway (being separated from her dog) and Harry Kim (being separated from his girlfriend).
