I don't have to watch soap operas. All I need to do is watch Insider and Hollyscoop.

a total stranger tried to make feel stupid at school on Friday because I wouldn't let her cut in line. She pointed to my right and asked "Where am I'm pointing" I said, "Does it look like I don't know my rights?!" She never talked to me again. BURNNNN

it's funny, now that lebanese comrades are coming over from melbourne and my sydney comrades now know i'm lebanese my comrades are all like "you should talk to them when they come over and ask them for books to read", "have you done the reading groups on arab nationalism?", "you should keep up with arab news. we have all these meetings on imperialism and you should comment with 'i'm lebanesen blah blah blah' because it carries more authority than white people making the same points". all of these i am happy to do(except the commenting bit. i will not speak in front of people in meetings) and was going to do anyway but it is funny they are going out of their way to make these points.

Lamb and sweet spices are a smelly match made in heaven. Got some ishtew (not a spelling mistake, it's Indian) bubbling away in the slow cooker, and it smells like a cross between lamb meat and christmasy cakes/biscuits. (The spices I toasted are cinnamon, fennel, cardammon, black pepper corns, cloves. There are also curry leaves in the mix, but didn't toast those.)
