Uh-oh, my mom has just put on Lavalantula. She's a big fan of "so bad it's good" movies (one of her favorites being Sharknado).

So far, I think this movie is trying too hard to be both scary and funny at the same time. Not like it's trying too hard to mix them, like it's trying too hard to be scary at the same time that it's trying too hard to be funny.

There's a whole genre of "horror-comedy." Things like Scary Movie and A Cabin in the Woods. They're presented more like horror, in my experience, but there's also a good bit of stuff thrown in that's supposed to be funny.

Did you know there is an institution of higher learning called Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University? It's true!

For admission, you just need to say their name from memory.

I'm browsing a site with Internet radio stations around the world. It cool, but also kind of depressing to find that a radio station in a remote settlement in Greenland basically plays American pop music, and a Christian station in Tasmania sounds just the same as one in Tennessee.

My son will take it! During the drive to his dad's today he kept talking about wearing his firefighter helmet and pretending the clouds were smoke and fire that needed to be put out
