I think the worst advice schools gave was "follow your interests". Careers give you resources so you can follow your interests.
Geology is interesting, but I think its time has passed as a viable career field -_-. You never really understand how shotty the program is until you've been in it at least a year or more. Metallurgical Engineering, Architecture/Computer design, History, and dare I say it....

....business are what I've narrowed it down to now. They all have more or less pretty clear cut career paths. The school I've been going to shats out Engineers that get jobs left and right and I'm starting to really feel the pressure to go that way.
