Maybe they do other things like sleep, eat, work, spend time with family, make love, etcetera.

When I pm someone and they don't reply, I get nervous I've said something wrong.
When there is a break in pm'ing, I seem to then not be sure as to how to resume exchanging pms.
Anyone else have this problem ?

Yes! Yesyesyesyes! :(

Of course, I'm also known to drop off my end of communication. Not because I'm mad, but usually either because I am forgetful or because I'm not sure what to say (yet).

I find pms hard as they are sort of everything in one chunk. With messengers you can sort of split it up and communicate as and when you have something useful to say without having to type great lumps. :)

Likewise. One exception aside, I'm awful with keeping up with PMs (but worse with... everything else).

I don't fold my clothes ever. I keep them in a big pile where I can easily find them. It is a lifelong habit.

Same thing for me as well. I can get paranoid if they don't reply and tend to seem over-emotional about it.. I guess it is insecurity. However I don't dislike the person more if they don't reply because I get in the same predicament of not knowing what to say next.

Don't be too hard on yourselves (and myself), the PM system is pure garbage for interacting. There is no "flow", once a certain amount of time has passed with no interaction the discussion at hand gets diluted and then it seems awkard to reply, loses the feeling .. even though you really want to reply(does that make sense?) I agree there needs to be a private messenger option where a "flow" can be maintained.

We could always migrate to IM or MSN something.

And here's my truth: I haven't used an instant messenger service for about 3 years! Wow...

MSN Live Messenger is best in my experience.

I settled down for Gtalk, as it's the most responsible and I could make good friends with it.

My random truth: When I get those messages on dating sites which invite me to have "casual sex", I ponder a lot on them, but never answer, because sex without love is icky for me, but I'm not able to be loved, so I guess it is my only option. Maybe I should answer the next one, get laid and finally die. I don't know. Anyone with the same issue here?

It is good, but it can be faulty.
