currently trying to figure out how to burn videos (and what formats are burnable) to blank DVD R discs.

i want to keep my memories touchable and holdable.

I can ask my techie friend to assist you with the best way to do that and then I could get back to you on that - he does that a lot.

What type of stuff is it? Is it multi media e g videos, images, music?

Yes, it's always nice to have a record of the stuff which means a lot to you!
