So far, just eggs on toast for breakfast. Labour time 9 1/2 minutes if you exclude pre-heating the oven I use for the toast. That takes about 20 minutes. I can omit the warm-up stage but then the toast would take longer and it'd be too dry. I'd get a toaster but there isn't enough space for it.

I cooked my most sucessful attempt ever at an omlette. I mean, it still wasn't great, but it was more functional than usual. See, it turns out I have got to the age of 45 with a fundamental misunderstanding of how cooking omlettes is supposed to work. I thought they were like pancakes, just made of egg, and you had to flip them midway through.

Mashed taters with green lentils, onions, mushrooms, olive oil, butter, spinach, garlic, soya milk, and just enough vitamin C powder to give it a nice tang. Total cooking time 90 minutes or less. Enough for one meal per day for 8 days.

This time it all went very smoothly and I didn't make any mistakes, so it didn't stress me out. Except that there were some dishes in the sink so I had to wash those before I started, and the draining racks were crowded out with dishes so I had to put some of those away before I could wash the dishes. There's no discipline in this house.
