The fact that I'll be working and earning money today, instead of scrounging for pop cans. :)

there are 4 sets of traffic lights between where i live (until tomorrow), and the supermarket i go to.
there are also (coincidentally) 4 sets of traffic lights between the supermarket and where i live (until tomorrow).

all 4 set of lights were green on my way to the supermarket, and all 4 sets of lights were green on my way home!! !!.
i was so elated that i wanted to bake a cake, but when i checked my cupboard, i saw that i did not have all the ingredients required to make a cake, and it became apparent to me that i would have to return to the supermarket to purchase the ingredients i did not already have.

my trip to the supermarket and back was a nightmare.
the traffic was atrocious and it took me 40 minutes to get there and back.

it is needless for me to say that i decided that baking a cake after all that unpredictable rigmarole was not a high priority.

so cake is in the near future, and that is a happy thought.

i eat cake hot. straight out of the oven. i do not care for icing or decorations.
i do not like gooey cakes.
i like hot fluffy cakes.

I had a nice chat with my mum today, and visited my dad earlier too. He doesn't talk much anymore but still like to see him when I can. Also my drawing tablet came today, no energy today but I will be trying it out tomorrow. :)

No rain for once. It's almost eighty degrees outside!

(Oh hell, that's going to make rugby miserable.)

My special interest in Johnny Depp/Tim Burton movies is back in full swing again. I really cherish times like these when I feel super-obsessed with it, because it's my favorite special interest and I don't ever want it to end (despite me saying the contrary sometimes when I'm in a bad mood)

I saved a bee from drowning today, and felt pretty good about it, since the thought of being that close to one makes me shudder. :D

...but then someone killed it on accident when it was drying off its wings.

there was a rally held by the Indigenous Social Justice Association today protesting against police brutality in light of the recent shootings of two kids in kings cross and i went. it rained on us but we still pulled 150 people which was good seeing as it was called two days ago. i love aboriginal rights rallies because they have a whole different tone to other rallies. they are usually family things, everyone is angry and everyone hates the cops with a vengance. there were lots of youth at this one. their favourite chant was "ftp" (f**k the police). catchy. ray jackson is coming to speak for my organisation.
i went to youth group and got some food for tomorrow. tomorrow is anzac day so they had to get rid of stuff. i now have pie, sandwich and doritos.
on my poster run i ran into people from queer youth group who were happy to see us postering for the same sex marriage rally.
someone from queer youth group was also at the rally. it was weird.
i got called a commie. never been called that before. it was said affectionately.
