i thought of the ideal dish to serve to visitors if i hosted a dinner party.
i would have the plates set down in front of the guests, and when they removed the silver domes over their plates they would see the mouth watering surprise of a whole smoked ox tongue laid with the tongue placed in a 12:30 position with the tip closest to their chest, and i would have 2 fresh steaming hot cods eyes (one on either side of the tongue near the back of the tongue). i would stick the cods eyes to the plate in a drop of aspic so they would be looking toward the diner. the tongue would be smeared with a scraping of caramel sauce.
what a dish to remember.
I have always assumed you were joking with these horrific food combinations. But just now I saw my daughter use caramel yougurt as a dipping sauce for carrots. So maybe you aren't joking. Are you joking???? I asked my daughter why she was dipping carrots in caramel yogurt and she said, "because I'm hungry". Maybe yogurt and caramel isn't a weird combination and I'm just too conservative. Maybe eggs and mint aren't either. She wasn't joking when she combined carrots and caramel. But are you when you combine (or claim to combine) eggs and mint, among other things. I just can't tell.
yes i am not being serious.
the dishes i described are the most horrendous agglomerations of taste sensations that i can imagine.
like boiled kidneys dusted with cinnamon sugar and topped with a garlic infused strawberry sauce.
