When they are so paranoid about trolls they end up being the trolls by calling everyone who doesn't fit 'the normal' here a troll.

Recently there were a couple of trolls who pretended to be the main characters from the movie Avatar. I thought they were actually kind of funny.

Yeah, I don't see how that's trolling TBH. :?

It's not that they're not afraid of anything, it's that they're cowards. They only do it because they know nothing can be done, most of the time, to stop them.

Well of course, the only thing in front of your face is a computer screen, not a 200 lb grown man.

On topic, you know someone's a troll when you can clearly see them doing it at your public library.

This.

They call you a troll when you aren't.

They claim they think you're a troll but yet still reply to your posts.
I never understood why people do this, we all know the internet meme, "don't feed the trolls" so why do they feed them if they think they are one? I think they're the trolls when they do it.

Yeah I agree that word gets misused here it's so annoying. If your opinion is different than everyones or if you hit the nail in the head they didn't want to hear or if they don't like your opinion, or don't like hat you post, they think you're a troll or call you one. I think it's a coping mechanism for them but it's a petty one.

Because they are pretending to be something they are not. Another part of trolling is making up stories to gain sympathy or attention or pretending to be something you're not and that includes being a movie or TV characters.

Trolling doesn't always involve provoking people and trying to start drama by riling people up or creating multiple accounts just to have an argument with yourself to start a drama. Trolling can also mean playing dumb or pretending to have hurt feelings or pretending to be offended. I have heard of a few members here who mess with the mods by playing dumb and pretending they don't get stuff nor understand things. Same as pretending to not understand what's going on just to mess with the mods and the members here. I suspect someone here was that but I am not sure, either she was a troll or she is that clueless in her actions. Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is a troll or not or if they just have problems. I can easily be mistaken for a troll.

There is friendly trolling and bad trolling. Friendly trolling is just pretending to be a character out of a movie or TV and what Ferdinand was doing in this section. It doesn't hurt anyone nor cause trouble.

Honestly, I've felt that I've been seen as a troll though, not saying I am just that I've felt that from the way I act or react to various post might have created such scenarios. In fact, I have no intent on causing chaos by any means for, I try to remain diplomatic among all people here members & mods alike. In fact, If I've burdened anyone in the past or that I'm doing it now I'll respectfully & wholhearteldy terminate my behavior..Sorry for being outlandish here but, simply wanted to get something off my chest that's all..

Sincerely speaking,
ProfessorX

There's a song about trolls, that The Beatles recorded, 30 years before the Internet became, as we know it, today. "Nowhere Man"

He's as blind as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see,
Isn't he a bit, like you and me.
