When I was laid off there was a form that was part of my severence that got missed somehow so I had to set up a meeting with the HR lady at Halliburton downtown and go meet there. This is quite a way out of my ways and already irritated for the inconvenience I was not in the best mood. They had gave me the whole song and dance...looming recession, tight budget kind of crap. I was pretty upset with the whole thing because I had sacrificed an incredable amount of effort into the company for the last year away from home out in the field, but heh whatever right. SO we settle on a time and date when she starts laughing (annoying tubby girl laugh) " Ohh I'm sorry that won't work, I forgot that I have interviewing booked for the entire morning!" Soooo, I'm thinking that this annoying b@3&*^ gets paid close to what I was getting, spent probably four or more years plugging some poor tiny chair at school, keeps a nice office downtown, is home every night, maintains an arrogance of a female with a job at a big oil company with everyone she meets, and can't find the sense in her to refrain from laughing right into the face of some poor down on his luck guy she just laid off. And Human Relations is her job title.....

I feel like such a freaking idiot. I was talking about Tim Burton in another thread, and I mistakenly said he directed Batman Begins, when in fact he directed the 1989 Batman film. I got corrected on it and now I'm embarrassed.

To add insult to injury, when I told my brother about the incident, he said that I fail at my special interest. :(

Power went out earlier for over three hours. The weather was fine & it just suddenly went out & did not flicker or anything 1st. Last mouth when the weather was good it went out for six hours & a day or so before that; it kept flickering on & off every couple seconds for most of the day. I turned the breaker off after a bit & tuned it on periodically to check cuz I didn't want to screw-up all the electric stuff. Entergy sux. It's very good thing I have a UPS for my computer

I don't want to see my psych next week, I'm dreading it. She makes me feel bad when I haven't done my "homework" :( (which consisted of me being someone I'm not)

That sucks Blue Bean. If I had a psych who wanted me to feel like someone i wasnt I would look for a new psych. I found one in 2008 who was great, I was really fond of her and she seemed genuinely fond of me too, i think that is important rather than professional distance.

She wants me to be all social at work which is stressful for me. I just want to sit at my desk quietly.

Why complain? No one is listening.

This is a complaint.

I had problems with psychs as well blue_bean. Maybe you could lie a bit; say you are doing the stuff your not & trying to be a different person; get the prescriptions/meds & go. I'm much better off NOT seeing docs or being on meds. The docs don't understand, don't listen & they have lots of misconceptions. Just because the docs/psychs have training & experience dealing with people who have mental disorders does NOT mean that they are good at it. Unless they suffered from those things themselves; they can NOT truly understand. The meds cause side-effects & it can get hard to tell if the problems are being caused by the disorders themselves or the meds that are supposed to be treating em. Sometimes the problems could be caused by things going on in life or the stigma from having a disorder & the meds are masking the real issues

She's a psychologist, not a psychiatrist so I can't get no meds off her :(. I can tell she's stumped on how to help me best as she keeps changing the direction a lot during the sessions. I STILL don't know if she knows much any mental disorders or if she's in the business of diagnosing them at all. She hasn't given me any labels yet.

I would consider finding someone else or maybe not going at all. I kept getting contradictory labels & advice from docs/psychs. What helped me was realizing that I'm not alone & having friends who I could turn to & relate somewhat. Counselors felt like paid friends to me

This thread fell to page 2 :x.

I wish to b*itch about the ATO's waste of paper with their new assessment system. They now send you a statement of your income tax account in one letter, and then send you your assessment and cheque/payment advice in another seperate letter :?. If they're doing this for every australian taxpayer that's a LOT of unnecessary paper. There should be a way for people to look up their tax/GST/PAYG online somehow, like how tax agents can do.
