Exactly.
Except Zooey Deschanel can actually sing.

Zooey can act and is far better than katy in my opinion, however katy can sing otherwise she wouldn´t have sold over 3 million copies of her album, as a matter of fact I have even seen katy´s singing compared to Alanis morissette quite a few times on magazines and Alanis can certainly sing .

I'm loving all of those pictures of Zooey Deschanel in sexy tights. Thanks.

She has great legs. I love those black tights on her.

Pssssh. Katy has only sold albums due to her looks. Her music is generic in my opinion.

There is a certain percentage of her fame do to her looks as there is with almost every female artists nowadays.

The thing is not everyone shares your opinion,I find poker face annoying however I know it is a worlwide hit so I have to put up with it everytime I go to a disco or a bar thats playing it because I know other people like it.

Aye. Sadly, she's married (to Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie, which probably makes them the most indie couple in existence).

It's saddening that someone's talent can be overlooked just because they're not what society deems as a "marketable girl."

I know everyone doesn't share my opinion. I'm the only one in my circle of friends that doesn't like Katy Perry. Maybe that's because I find the exploitation of women to be disgusting. :/

I am vaguely aware of Katy Perry, know she's a singer. Just can't think of any of her songs.

That must speak a lot about her actual capabilities - right?

But well, I get Rolling Stone in the mail the other day... she's well overdone on the cover.

I only know "I kissed a girl (And I liked it" and "California Girls." Personally, I don't see why California's so great. They have lots of earthquakes and crackhead celebrities running about. Not a safe place for children, I'd assume.

Well, it's a big place. Lots more than just the celebrity crap.

Though I've never been personally.

I know, I was just being silly. :)

It's not one of my "places I need to see before I die" but if someone I knew personally invited me out there, I'd make the trip. I'd rather visit Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, or Italy. ^_^

It´s saddening indeed but that´s the way society works nowadays.

Beth ditto(the gossip singer) is the only female artist that isn´t hot I can think right now and she only appeared on the media when she started criticizzing katy for being a hypocrite.

I liked katy´s songs when they came out right now I barely can listen to her, they are too repetitive in my opinion.

Yup. That and I think her California Girls video is stupid. Why are they wearing cupcake bras? Whhyyyyyyyyyy? That and I was baking cupcakes the first time I saw that video because mom likes to see what music videos are popular with the kids, even though she knows it's trash. :/

"California Girls" is a classic Beach Boys song. How dare she have the gall to attempt to supercede it?
