The weather.

Hey, I know it's nice that we don't get tornadoes or hurricanes here, ever. But honestly it's mid-april and it's yet to eclipse 60 degrees, that's just sad. Not to mention the last 2 months it's rained well more than it's been sunny.

The town I'm originally from is run by fundamentalist Christians. I mean, I grew up conservative, though have emerged as apolitical, but that's a bit too far.

The HST tax that's put on everything could be a killer.

That's my kind of weather. 8) My complaint: it's too hot in the summer

Hicks.
Gangs.
Hick gangs.
Drug market.
Everyone's a litterbug.
Metal and country is the only music this place listens to.
Low tolerance for anything beyond straight people.
They don't aspire to do anything but worry about who's dating who.
Wal-mart.

I'll add on if I think of something.

Orange County, California:

A social conservative/Republican cultural wasteland.
Intolerance to the point of violence of anyone perceived to be "different"

Everything else is pretty nice though, I'm just lucky I haven't been killed...

- Have to travel at least 30 minutes to go grocery shopping and shopping for clothes
- taxes
- high gas prices
- Hard to socialize with new people because you grew up with everybody living there.

The closest gas station is four miles.

The closest park or other places to hang out (and the town) is 10 miles.

The heat and humidity.

My districts representative is dumber than a sack of potato's.

No trains.

Other than that, it's cool.

the people in my area are not known for their racial tolerance. the area is not very racially diverse. there are no large art galleries. no really awsome things happening politically. the liberal mp for our area listed the christian democrats as choice no2 on his how to vote card. the people are ticky tacky.

Well I live in a village located (for our (in)convenience) on the A1. I have to walk over a mile and a half to get the one bus which serves our 'community' (well actually there's one bus that comes literally once on a Thursday! So that makes 2). The one bus is ALWAYS late, guaranteed because it gets stuck in St. Neots for about 20 minutes. You get honked at by horny lorry drivers while waiting for said bus (whether you're a girl or a boy!).

As for the 'community', aside from the large mental hospital, there isn't one. Well they won't let us autistics into it if there is one. We're either part of the autistic lot or not, they're so ignorant! It's like a racist village, except instead of colour, its over whether you are 'normal' or not. Having said that though, I could probably diagnose several of the 'normal' villagers with various personality disorders! As someone who is NOT in the hospital, but living in independent housing (that's a joke too considering where it is!) I wouldn't mind trying to be part of their society and helping with the upkeep of the village etc. but they're not interested.

There's a casino a block away from my neighbourhood and most of you know about my gambling problem. I'm on self exclusion until the March of 2013.
