no kidding.

i watched a doug episode today, where he got fat at his grandma's house from junk food and feeling disgusted with himself, tried to lose it all so he could go to a pool party and not get made fun of. (or so he feared)

don't think that would fly today!

Maybe because it is a real last name.

I'd rather not have the name Dick Army

Its a common German (especially German-Jewish) surname.

English has so much slang that half of the names in the phone book have raunchy double meanings.
The Dr did have an accent.

A common surname of Chinese Americans is "Poon". And one of the greatest ages of Chinese history was the "Tang" dynasty.

Supposedly in the UK one of the slang terms for "penis" is "cobbler". An American lady in England shocked her dinner guests when she announced that she was serving "peach cobbler" for desert.

So in English you can hardly take two steps without tripping over a word with a dirty double meaning.

comic david letterman had on his show, back in 1995, a guest by the name of Gerald Assman [a Canadian]. when I worked in the army labor and delivery unit we musta had his relative, another Assman, but he said he was not related to him, that he had no Canadian relatives.

In the show Cow & Chicken there was a red devil guy known as Red Guy who had different jobs & usually didn't wear pants. He had different aliases for different jobs & his names were related to him not wearing pants including
Dr. Laxslax
Mrs. Barederrière
Officer Pantsoffski
Officer O'Fannahey
Officer Hiney
Principal Hiney
Hiney Beau

That raises the issue of what do they do if you're a guy named "Sargent" and you rise to rank of Sergeant?

Like what if you build a new high school, and decide to name it after someone with a name like Martin Luther King Jr.? You cant call it "Martin Luther King Jr. Highschool" because it isnt a junior highschool. Lol!

in Berkeley, Ca. there is a "Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School" thereby avoiding that problem. or they could name it MLK high school. although it might be funnier if it were MLK jr. sr. high school. ;)
