Pollock is lower in calories and higher in omega 3 oils compared to cod.
So it is slightly healthier for you.
I like the cheap pollock fish fingers too.
Fish finger toastie with lettuce or cucumber and mayo is lovely.

You're right it is Pollock, I've just had a look at the pack of the ones I'm cooking right now. I don't think they're going to be low cal though because I'm frying them in lard before throwing them between two thick slices of crusty bread with some tomato puree :D

Will definitely try those cheapo sainsbury fish fingers - I'm in there regularly for vegetarian sausage mix, which is difficult to get hold of these days.

You can get little pieces of bread crumb covered fish shaped like mini fishes, and I'm sure I have seen star shapes, but no Christmas trees.

They'll be golden, not burnt black,
I'll put them in a little toast rack,
Or decorate them with festive peas,
On a metal skeletoned fish finger tree,
Oh Proustian chomp where memory lingers,
The squelch of a butty of juicy fish fingers.

Oh, Christmas memories they come flooding,
Now it's time for Christmas Pudding.

And as i blow upon the custard,
My senses slip, though not disgusted,
Can my perceptions here be real?
The shiny black nose of the seventeenth seal,
Steams blue black from the halls of Dis,
And slides down nicely after chips.

In the past, when I skipped my family holiday party, I felt little lonely & was thinking about them. Now I don’t care,I’m not lonely. I can’t wait for 2017 to be over.

I'd give you an emoji round of applause if I knew how so you'll have to imagine it :D

I am having fish fingers today.
The pull is too much for me to resist anymore.

I do not put up decorations. I just sit at home and watch tv. Made homemade pizza. I did not get or buy presents. I am becoming a scrooge.

Give me a recipe I can make it. I have a homemade Angel food cake setting on my kitchen table right now.

@fluffysaurus, your round of applause flew and landed very sweetly in my imagination, thank you.

Still on the fish fingers bit today, there are worse things to get monomaniac about. Aiming for a nut roast when New Year's Eve happens properly though.

Aoxolotl are almost like fish, and they have hands never mind fingers. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C_eroBfXoAATrDc.jpg
