i knew a few people named isis. it's a beautiful name, i think. that has been dragged (drug) through the mud
got an aunt that greatly resembles the karen-phenotype but as far as i know (not very far) is not very karen-like at all.
my dad - her brother - kinda is though...oops

so true. "customer is always right" mentality wears a lot of employees down and contributes to high turnover in many places.

Can the male version of Karen be Karl? I saw a Karl who had the chef, waitress and manager speak to him about where the cow was raised after he ate his steak. It was more of a tantrum actually.

I wonder how Becky feels about Karen getting all the attention.

I believe that's Kyle.

I thought this was a good video exploring how the meme came to be.

Her coffee shop skit explains what the difference between a Karen and a regular woman with a request at a coffee shop is.

Early in March I was waiting in line to buy something I don't remember at Value Village. It was around the time Covid-19 was declared a pandemic. There were barely any people working in the store and the line was really slow. Then the guy in front of me says to the cashier "I want to speak to your manager about why there's nobody here.", and the cashier up and leaves, forcing me to wait even longer.

So I guess that was the male version of a Karen. Do they have a name for male Karens? Karenman? Karendude?

Yeah.

"Carl" is more like "Carol" than like "Karen".

And "Kyle" is a more trendy NOW kinda name, that a 21st century yuppie guy might have.

Not that Im against yuppies or trendy folks. Its just that you know that a guy who complains while shopping at William Sonoma is gonna be a "Kyle", and not a "Carl".

I had no clue that the word Karen was an internet slang term till I saw this thread. When I hear the word Karen, I think of Plankton's computer wife on Sponge Bob

& the Jill Sobule song Karen By Night

I don't like when it's used against people for being particular or for being annoyed when they don't get what they want. Autistic people are particular and the things we have meltdowns over could be considered 'fussy' by NTs who don't get it.
