You're right... we only have 2.2 million people in prison now... using your idea, we should be able to increase that number at least tenfold!

well, there is always the death penalty

It is incredibly stupid to think you have the right to control other people's lives.

It is incredibly arrogant to think you know how someone should live his life better than he does.

It is one of mankind's basest traits to want to control other people.

You are trying to take away my freedom; I am fighting to keep it.

Really? I'm kinda confused here, so do you think that smokers should have the right and freedom to smoke around children and people in general wether they are non-smokers, if they please? And non-smokers should take it, even if that puts their health in danger?

Talking about stupidity, don't you think that smoking around children is incredibly stupid? and yeah, those people should pay a fine at least for smoking around children and non-smokers, and they can scream about their "right" and "freedom" all they like.

I'm sorry for believing in freedom. I guess it's out-of-style right now.

I do believe and support freedom, you know.

I just don't get your point very well, you seem to think that smoking around non-smokers including children is not that bad and you equal that to freedom, at least that's what it seems, curiously funny.

No, I just don't think we should criminalize such behavior.

The only reason cigarettes are still legal is because big corporations make billions off of them and the government gets billions in extra taxes. Smoking around kids is like giving them candy made with lead or injecting them with mercury.

The tobacco companies knowingly created and sold a product that destroys your health and makes you addicted to it while fighting a label to warn consumers about it. They marketed it to kids and made it look cool so they could get you addicted while you were young. One reason I don't smoke is cause I would never want to help these greedy cold-hearted scumbags make more money. Also, when you only do something cause you're addicted to it, it's like slavery. It destroys your health and takes away your money and does nothing good for you. No thanks. I don't want to be forced to keep doing something to serve the masters (more profits for big tobacco companies) and ruin my health (slave). I want to be free. I want the freedom to make my own choices instead of acting based on an addiction. I want the freedom that comes from being healthy and able to do what I want instead of suffering from lung cancer and other diseases. And, of course, children should be free from people ruining their health from second hand smoke. I think the penalty for smoking around children should be a large fine.

I think that was his point. I hate debates, but at the same time get drawn to it. It sucks.

By the way, that's all you had to say Ed.
