I collect Monster High Dolls, Ever After High dolls, and Equestria Girls. "Guilty" pleasure.
Now before you all come to my apartment to crucify me, let me at least explain the positive meanings behind the first two types of dolls. Monster High is all about being unique and being yourself, instead of trying to fit in. The characters each have a "freaky flaw" which makes their life (or unlife) a bit of a challenge, because monsters aren't perfect and neither are we. The Ever After High dolls are like this except they're the sons and daughters of famous fairy tale characters. Some of the characters - especially the ones whose parents are villains, do not wish to do the things their parents did in their own tales and want to "rewrite" their stories. It's about getting to choose how to live your own life and not have to follow in your parents footsteps if you don't want to.
Anyway, you're probably like "but fashion dolls glorify anorexia because they're too skinny". Well, there are baby dolls that are chubby, like the Cabbage Patch Kids, and that's supposed to be "cute". No one ever says they glorify childhood obesity or whatever nonsense. For Pete's sake they're not real, they're just DOLLS.
