Some are scientific savants. Many have greater logical abilities, aren't dependent upon social heirarchies.
These are traits that are advantageous in the right application, at this period in time.

The ideas that autistic people develop can have important effects on everyone. Isaac Newton was probably autistic, Einstein may have been too. There are many other famous and influential people who may have had autism.

You know, just the very fact that when put on a site together we start conversing about evolution might be signs that we are an evolved version of humanity.

We think about things differently.
We care about things most people don't.
And we are very able, very willing, to sit down and discuss something in depth for days in a row.

Thats an advantage for human kind.
To have people who think for once.
Rather then just turn on the tv.

Visit Facebook. Lots of groups on evolution with lots of members. I doubt all of them are Aspies or even especially intelligent.

Does accepting evolution mean that a person is stupid?

Why do so many scientists accept evolution?

Are they all less intelligent than the brilliant creationists?

:D

Is English your first language? I heard doubting is healthy, so I'll doubt this.

English is my first language and I very rarely make any errors of grammar. Why did you conclude that my first language wasn't English? Do you have a problem reading or comprehending? Or both?

You implied that people who accept evolution are not particularly intelligent, did you not?

especially

particularly

It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to discuss anything and the suggestion that the discussion of evolution causes or is a sign of intelligence is incorrect.

What is discussion of evolution a sign of then?

Not my point, rather you pointed out what I was trying to say.

Aspies will talk about various things, and come up with some good points in doing so.

Normal people do this as well, they talk about things, usually things that bother them.
But do they ever reach the same level of devoted talking, intellectual conclusions, or nearly absurd dedication?
No.
You point that out yourself.

The more normal people just talk.

The less normal people, the more "evolved"...
We sit, we debate, we re-debate, we learn.

We care, on a completely different level.

We are GOOD At it.
Very good at it, actually.
I love this site because people actually talk about things in depth.

For myself, I become fixated on a topic until I know all I care to about it. It may even seem a bit obsessive-compulsive at times, perhaps it is.

The debate part of it is because we formulate our own views and hold on to them with an iron grip. If you ever look in PPR, you'll see threads trillions of pages long - but they're still at the same spot they were at the start!! ! We believe and accept as truth what we figure out and discover ourselves; try and take it from us Aspies and it's like living on a target range.
