You don't know what I'm talking about, nor am I talking trash. Your post is actually another good example of what I'm speaking of; people assume things that are said are directed to them, and they assume that what's said is actually the worst scenario possible. All it is is presumptions.

All humans are quite smart too.

"""You don't know what I'm talking about"""

Ok then, so spell it out for me smart guy.
Guess my understanding capabilitys are
not so good.

I know you`re not talking directly to me,
i`m just pointing out that you talk alot of
trash in my opinion.

"""they assume that what's said is actually the worst scenario possible""

Dont understand what you mean by that, confused.

I miss Zannemarie. When she was posting, she posted a LOT ! ! She wrote stories all the time, but refused to submit any for publication. I asked her to send me a chapter or two, and it was as long as War and Peace ! !! Quite good, too.

So, no one has the "right" to call others stupid, even if they are actually stupid (it's beside the point that I didn't actually call anyone stupid, other than "people"/humanity)? "Right" is a misnomer, as people can define "right" in any way they so wish. Why is it that you're condescending in your rolling of eyes? You do know that that's actually insulting.

Exactly. What I mean though is actually doing it. You can think someone is stupid or whatever you want to just as long as you keep it to yourself. But I won't say "Don't call anyone <insert insult>" because from time to time I do it myself. It's wrong of me to do it but it happens. As for the rolling eyes, I meant no harm, I tend to misuse it every single time I use it.

I know you didn't call anyone in particular that but it happens a lot on this entire forum and some people are indeed highly sensitive to it. And there are probably some people that take every thing said to be directed at them. But does that make them stupid? I really don't think so.

I wonder what the new members think when they see that the some of the long time members would prefer previous company.

It doesn't seem welcoming, which is precisely what the longer term members seemed to enjoy, the welcoming aspect, the familiarity and that kind of thing.

If we want a nice, close-knit forum, it needs to be built, rebuilt, tended and nurtured because members will always come and go, that is the nature of it.

Its continual gardening: planting, feeding, weeding, pruning and enjoying.

Just a thought.

Pretty metaphor.

Good point.

Does anyone remember the bloke from Sweden? He was very inappropriate in his language, and was obssessed with guns and explosives. (Reading this, it sounds like I'm making this up!) He was an original, once referred to a woman's picture in a term I can't repeat.
