There was a B36 nuclear testbed. The reactor did not power the aircraft. The goal was to determine the effects of radiation on instruments and equipment.

Starbuck, a Lynx point Siamese, was listed in Cat Fancy Magazine as the oldest cat. He was 27 at the time. He was owned by a family in Victorville, CA.
