Man, those specifically named .22 Long Rifle "Quiets" from CCI are in fact very quiet. 40 grain 5.6mm pill moving at 700 feet per second at the muzzle -- sadly, it has about 6 inches or so (my eyeball) drop at 100 meters when using said range as the zero for Standard Velocity loadings (1050 feet per second); you always have to give up something. They also hit my steel plate with far less authority (ting! instead of clang!).

I couldn't be fudged making a 100 meter zero with these, so I'll just do the usual, "aim several inches higher". It works.

The neighbors 200 meters away won't be able to hear them at all.

Fudge it, I'll move the POI up 10 inches at 100 yards -- that should be about on with the 40 grain pill @ 700 FPS. Just need to remember how many clicks so I can just go the other way when I change ammo. I'll stick with these quiet ones from here on for plinking. That'll be 40 clicks up.

Doesn't feel right to hold over on a target when you aren't using a mil-dot or similar reticle.
