your post would be a very good reply in the oxy-moron thread and that is all.

if a "couple" can be considered a single unit, then i guess your wording is correct.

i would have guessed correctly given your previous post, but you preempted that excercise by posting the answer.
down here in sydney, "mrs macquarie's chair" is the most popular spot for weddings. it is incomprehensible to me that places can have "traditional" importance even though they are quite uninspiring on a personal level. tammy wants to marry me at that location, but i can not see why it worth the trouble to spend the money required to hire an uninteresting block of of roughly hewn sandstone that is not even padded to sit upon when we get married.

i told her that i would agree to getting married there, but i also told her that by the time i am going to get married, it would long be eroded away.

i have never started a thread because i have wet social matches that can not strike a light, but i was tempted to do so today.
i will post this in the random thread because of the greater likelihood of being able to get advice pertaining to my obsession about duck eggs.

i love chicken eggs. one of my favorite meals is simply 2 soft boiled eggs with a slice of buttered toast cut into "soldiers" (5 slices from one piece of toast) to dip into the yolk. i buy fresh chicken eggs from a farmers market every saturday, and i am assured they were laid that week. they are always very rich and the yolks are a deep yellow and they taste like "sunshine" (figuratively).

but i have always had a hankering for duck eggs, and i have looked for them to buy all my adult life without success. i have never tried duck eggs.

i have researched everything i can read about how duck eggs taste, and 80% of people (who have tried them) say that they taste just like a chicken egg only much richer. much "eggier". that is what i want.

20% of people (who have tasted them) claim that duck eggs taste slightly "gamey", and if that is the case i will be extremely disappointed.

the fact that duck eggs are not a common commodity may either indicate that not enough people like them in order for there to be a viable market for them, or else it may indicate that it is much less financially beneficial to deal in duck eggs because of the fact that many more chickens can be enclosed in a small area than ducks. maybe duck food is too expensive and maybe ducks lay eggs less often and so the margins are insufficient for a commercial market. maybe ducks require a more sophisticated environment than chickens (for example a pond to waddle in (which then requires a filtration system to keep the water clean)) etc etc.

i hope it is because of the lack of profitable feasibility of keeping ducks compared with keeping chickens that is the reason for duck eggs being so difficult to source. i hope it is not because many people do not like the taste of duck eggs.

i have finally secured a source of duck eggs (i will have to drive 100 miles west of my home to a butcher shop who can order them in for me). i have ordered a dozen of them (the minimum i could order), and i will drive out there next thursday to buy them (after the butcher rings me to tell me they have arrived)

so i will for a vary rare time ask a question. who has tried duck eggs, and what is your detailed description of your impression of them?

are they gamey or are they just like chicken eggs x 2 taste wise. i have seen every youtube video pertaining to duck eggs, and their yolks look deep orange (like the sun at sunset) and i am craving to soft boil my first duck egg and dip my toast in it.

how long does one boil a duck egg for so that the yolk is runny and the albumen is set?
is it the mass of the duck egg divided by the mass of a chicken egg times the boiling time for a chicken egg?

You seem to be a relative pioneer in this area and we will all benefit from hearing about your findings.
Incidentally, when you say that you cut your toast into five "soldiers", is that like five straight strips or five wedges?

I do the same. Now I'm going to think of this post when I eat breakfast.

You know what they say: if you can't beat them, join them. If you can't join them, then burn their house to the ground!

I'm looking into buying a double bass and picking that up as an instrument again.

Quiet

No, seriously, it was really interesting. I only even found about about Aspergers a couple of months ago, so interesting to meet other people like me IRL. Looking forward to the next one already.

AlthoughI did have to go and hide under my duvet for an hour after, to recover from the shock of spending two hours in a room talking to strangers 8O

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
But it gives you diabetes, too. (If you have too much, anyway.)

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone.
