I got balloons from some friends today for my birthday. When I first saw them, the first thought that came into my head was, "Oh, look, balloons." And then I saw that my friend had drawn some Axis Powers Hetalia characters and cut them out and taped them onto the balloon strings. That made my day. Apparently, that show became my special interest and I started to ramble about that (among other things) a lot.
Also, during people, I actually held a pleasant conversation with a friend! It didn't completely feel natural, but I felt almost no anxiety! But then again, I stuck to topics I was interested (and tried not to ramble) in and to school-related topics rather than... I don't know, the latest movies in the theater?

Got some neat stuff in the mail - a magazine with a feature on Dark Shadows (sent to me from my aunt) and a book I ordered from amazon: "Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend" by Matthew Green.
Also, I learned today that my mom got a job she applied for.

i learned there will be a solar eclipse in november! so psyched. if it is cloudy on that day the weather bureau gets it. also brought home an old copy of our magazine because i can do that now.
i just found out where my university's pet cats come from. apparently a student left their cat here when they finished uni and it became a stray and bred so now our uni is crawling with cats and the people who leave food out for them are the unsw campus cat coalition. they also desex and vaccinate them. i'd wondered about that for 2 years.
