It's hot outside today, but at least it's not raining.

I'm gonna try and go deer hunting this year.

Mainly the sick car that's stopping me. It needs to be fixed for the couple of decent drives:

To the range an hour down south to go through a few boxes of ammunition that I plan to use, to know where it hits at 50 and 100 meters with the sights on the rifle

and

to the property a couple of hours up north

(Yes, yes, I know it probably makes me a barbarian to what seems like most people nowadays. But I'm a carnivore who isn't a hypocrite.)

i want to source some quail eggs, but unfortunately, even if i did find some, i would not be able to eat them since i suspect i will not be able to find quail egg cups anywhere. even if i did find where to buy them (which is highly unlikely) , it would be arduous to cut my toast into 1/2 cm strips so i can dip the strips into the yolk.

1/2 cm strips of toast would not have the structural integrity to penetrate even runny yolks. i would have to force the strip into the egg with my finger and that is gross. additionally, i would have to boil about a dozen of them to satisfy my mornings appetite, and to have to delicately slice the heads off all 12 quail eggs would be out of the question in my state of mind when i am partaking in breakfast.

i could try to fry them and put them on toast. i would think it would take 9 fried quails eggs to completely cover a piece of toast. that is 9 times the probability of one of them sliding off the toast as i put it toward my mouth in order to take a bite. i can see that that idea may degenerate into a shambles of errant quail eggs slipping off the toast and flopping onto the plate before i can bite them into my mouth. meltdown territory.

if i used them in scrambled eggs, then i would have to use about 24 eggs to make the dish, and cracking 24 eggs (that small) carefully so as to not impart a piece of broken shell to the mixture would probably consume more calories in impatience and frustration than they yeild (in my case(i am easily disgruntled by ostensibly trivial things)).

but if i now had a heart attack and i was about to die, and someone asked me "what is your deepest regret", then my answer would not be "abandoning my search for quail eggs". phew. at least something good came out of it.

.

I should take up cocaine. Surely it's a less expensive habit than books.

How soon do you think Barnes & Noble will go out of business? I give them a year.
